Black and White and Trompe L'Oeil All Over

If this isn't trompe l'oeil, I don't know what is? Simply composed of white painted walls and black markers, it is the most playful architectural backdrop I have ever seen. Now I only need to hop a plane to the Ukraine to see this darling gift shop myself. Design also by Belenko!

Just A Little Doodle

How adorable are these branding products? I wish my handwriting was IDENTICAL to this careful,loopy typography! I am beginning to work on my Interior Design portfolio so I am trying to absorb as much graphic design that I can, especially styles that reflect my own...

I thought both of these companies did a wonderful job of making their packaging fun, creative and inviting to the customer. I would love to go to the Mermaid Inn just to receive that darling matchbook :) Surprisingly enough The Flour Pot Bakery and The Mermaid Inn are designed by different graphic artists despite the similar style.

Nate Berkus, You are a Design God...

Just went on Nate Berkus's website and got the immediate feeling that we would instantly be friends. I have always recognized the name but couldn't put a distinct face to an interior. These days I am all about the midcentury modern, paired against neutral surfaces and topped off with some bright colors, which also seemed to be the main theme to a lot his designs. He also designed one of my favorite Elle Decor editorials to date...does this one ring a back from 2008?

Can't Get Enough Of...

Not too long ago I discovered the Danish artist, Quadron and ever since have had her album on repeat! I'm not entirely sure what her genre would be classified under, but I would describe her as... Feelgood-Urban-Smooth Jazz (I am no music expert though). It's the perfect album to wake up to, my favorite songs are Pressure and the Average Fruit. Plus I absolutely love her eye catching album cover, but should I be surprised? She is a dane...

Sofia Strikes Again!

Not only do I absolutely adore her newest collection of handbags, I think I love her ad campaign 3X more! As an interior design major, I truly appreciate the styling of her handbags within Coppola's own abode. I love the idea of placing her designs within her actual home to truly show off the very essence and everything Sofia Coppola exudes, Absolute Pure Sophistication.

Of course Marc Jacob's next step would be to open up a bookstore in Greenwich, NYC. Bookmarc is full of well designed pens and paper as well as notebooks, book bags and of course--books! I even heard through the grapevine that Jacobs will be opening up a Cafe soon in NYC as well. I'm even gonna double cross my fingers for a hotel, the man is unstoppable! But for now I'd be happy with a couple of designer sharpies :)
