Lost Art

I am going to go out on a limb here & say that hand lettering is becoming a lost art. The less & less we write out, the worse our handwriting is becomes. Imagine writing a whole email by hand?!

Unless this is, if you're Molly Jacques! I have been really keen on hand lettering lately & really want to make a conscious effort to work on writing more. Whether it may be lists, ideas or snail mail. Molly really inspired me this evening with her beautiful hand lettering. Plus it doesn't hurt the quotes she happens to write are absolutely inspiring--I mean Christopher Robins? Brilliant.

I'm sure you've seen her stuff popping up all over pinterest, design blogs & even online shops.

One of the best things I discovered on Molly's site is that she personally shows you how to create a holiday card with her own signature flair--see the directions here. There is still time to whip some of these bad boys up & get them out the door!

White Light

I am particularly fond right now on the sculptural art of Bjorn Dahlem. With only a few materials & neon lighting he creates some breathtaking installations that I think would be equally exquisite during the day as the night.

Neon is so hott right now.

The Make Under

The New York Times Design section never lets me down. The Makeunder article of John Derian's home had me double glancing ever detail--the floors, the window panes, the perfectly placed floral arrangements really bring this place alive. I dig every detail 100%.

Things Organized & Designed Neatly

is one of my favorite pairings in the design world & Oat gets that completely. Bravo to them!

Dwelling in Italian Farmhouses

Dwell just did a editorial on this beautiful renovation of an Italian farmhouse in the country and I couldn't stop staring--I must have gone through the slideshow 5x. The attention to detail in this home alone knocks my socks off as well as the superb materiality throughout the residence. The authentic of the original bones blends seamlessly with the clean & modern lines of the new details. I can only dream of one day stepping inside a home so beautiful.

Different Kind of Garden Party

I guess this kind of party would technically be considered a "farm" party & I for one, am all about this new take on an outdoor party. Any kind of setting that has lush surroundings, warm glowing lights and simplistic seating I am a strong supporter no matter where the location is.

YP's living right

Speaking of YP lifestyle--what better way to start off some fresh posts than with this artsy little lady? Only 27 and look at this stunning apartment Kyle DeWoody has acquired for herself...not.too.shabby.

She is owner of her own design shop, Grey Area as well as creative director. You go girl--I'd be happy with half this art & furniture collection at 27!
