Brighter Mondays

Mondays I always wake up a little too late and a little too groggy in the morning to really cohesively concoct a sensible ensemble. However, this week I am incredibly inspired by the fashionable ladies above that aren't afraid to mix texture and color--2 things that I sometimes try to ignore at 6 am...However, I will be trying extra hard this week to wake up a little bit earlier and a little more coherent to really try and step out of my comfort zone. With this said, a very Happy Monday to wherever you may be!

PS: All of these wonderful images are found via my fabulous friend Alyssa's blog, Glam & Fashionable! She inspires me on the daily with her posts to push myself in both of those directions through her gorgeous images, love you darling!

MODERN DAY FEMME UNIFORM

Equipment Femme is coming out with some major cool product for the modern day woman with an updated take on an everyday blouse. With blush-neutrals color palettes, breezy fabrics and an unexpected prints that pop up every so often in the collection, each of these classically structured blouses would look equally good with a pencil skirt as they would a boyfriend jean, skinny or even high-waisted shorts! J'adore!

Because We're Young & We Can

Get yours on at  net-a-porter! But just because we're young doesn't mean we can afford this kinda bold. Catch 22.

Soul Sister

So glad the Coveteur is up and running again! I love the juxtaposition of garments against everyday items in one's home such as books, magazines, furniture, etc. By doing this you truly get a feeling of one's style through all aspects of their lives.

I have to say Britt Aboutaleb is definitely a girl after my own taste. A bit of stripes, some chunky necklaces and she even reads my favorite British mag, The Gentlewomen. Which reminds me I want to order issue No. 3!

Party Girl

Even though I am absolutely, positively dreading heading into work tomorrow to deal with the crazy mobs and sales--I will admit to already peeping some 'day-after-Christmas' deals. But how could I not? New Years is currently right around the corner and a girl needs a fabulous dress to properly start 2011 off with!

Here are a few (afordable) options courtesy of the brilliant Asos (a top knotch fashion webiste that houses all the British designer brands with a few American ones as well under one roof).

J'aime Mon Carre

I have always absolutely loved anything from Hermes because of there boldly beautiful colors and an eye-catching patterns. There style is timeless. The same scarves they produced 100 years ago are just as stylish as the ones they design today. I am absolutely, positively infatuated with their new addition on their website which is dedicated to their infamous scarves, "j'aime mon carre" (translating to "i love my scarf").  Hermes showcases the girls of London, NYC, Paris and Tokyo and the endless ways you can rock your Hermes scarf...I could easily spend all day on this site.

Of course Marc Jacob's next step would be to open up a bookstore in Greenwich, NYC. Bookmarc is full of well designed pens and paper as well as notebooks, book bags and of course--books! I even heard through the grapevine that Jacobs will be opening up a Cafe soon in NYC as well. I'm even gonna double cross my fingers for a hotel, the man is unstoppable! But for now I'd be happy with a couple of designer sharpies :)

Grey Feathers

How badly do you wish you owned these fabulous booties, haute couture clutch & darling headband? I want to rock this outfit right now--if only I had the closet of Chiara Ferragani! Chiara is 100% italian, a law student and a fashion blogger residing in Milan, Italy. With this kind of glamorous style, it only makes sense that Ferragani would be located in the fashion capital of the world.

My Kinda Style

I am absolutely loving every out fit featured on Lucy Laucht's blog!! She is a darling British fashionista who is  currently residing in Australia. Most of her outfits are pieces from H & M, Zara and/or thrifted--my kind of price points! Her darling camel colored Mulberry bag seems to be accessorized with all of her outfits--which is making me really really  want one even more!  I will definitely be browsing her blog on dull mornings when I'm lacking original outfit inspirations! Love love love her style!

Jumping for Handbag Joy!

I am so excited to hear about the newest Target collab that will be debuting in October! It just so happens to be with Mulberry!!! For those of you who haven't heard of this English handbag company--you are in for a luxurious treat. Mulberry creates some of the most tasteful and classic handbags, made even more famous by Alexa Chung (who has a bag in her name). I absolutely drooled over these bags the whole time I was in London and now I will finally be able to afford my own!

Oh Target, you never dissapoint--from collaborations with Anna Sui to Hayden Harnett to Zac Posen! Thank you for making such fabulous designers available to everyone (especially us college students), you really are too kind!

Endless Embellishments

This is one of my favorite new trends for 2010, sophisticated and intricate embellishments. I think part of this has to do with my strong love of bold statement jewelry. When paired with fabulous neutral shades, its the perfect balance of glam.

Be sure to check out Sam Edelmen--who is currently my favourite new shoe designer.

Ritzy Threads

All Images Courtesy of Aritzia

Yesterday I met up with some girlfriends at Bellevue Square and took a spin through Aritzia and had completely forgotten what great items they have! Everything from Acne to See by Chloe. The boutique is chalk full of wonderful staples--I fell in love with a classic navy boyfriend blazer, coral satin tank and the most delightful floral, sweetheart sundress. All would be great pieces in building a solid wardrobe(my new goal right now to invest in nice, quality timeless items) but sadly I am a bit tight on the cash money these days. It was great day dreaming and the interior wasn't too shabby either. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday wherever you might be :)

A Pop of Colour

Today I thought I would share a couple of my favorite spring and summer pieces that would cheer up any wardrobe! There's nothing like a bright colour pair of flats to refresh a favorite outfit-- the new J.crew and Prada summer collections of ballet flats are all absolutely beautiful and refreshing. With such a variety of color, patterns and embellishments, how do you pick only one pair?! I am also loving the DVF romper, such a perfect piece for shopping in the day with flats and cardigan but also darling for a night out in the town with some fun stacked heels or the new modern clog. As for the YSL ring, I think it would be quite a versatile statement piece...such a beautiful shade of green that could instantly add a touch of glamour and actually acts as a fairly neutral shade that would like fabulous with any outfit! As for some colour for your daily intake, why not bake some colourful "fairycakes" for a sweet afternoon treat? Any of these look absolutely delicious, especially if snacking in a fabulous new pair of flats :)
