Graphics Done Right
I like both of these mixed media layouts from the book Cutting Edges. The cover has always been a favorite of mine...

On Point
I could barely sit still at work today when I saw that Mika Tajima now is on show at the SAM, which just happens to be right across the street from my firm (therefore no excuses to miss it)!
I have heard Mika Tajima's name around the design blogmosphere and have always been quite intrigued about her mixed media exhibits which explore a lot of architecture & interior elements. Supposedly some of Tajima's work has been inspired from the modular desking systems of Herman Miller which explains a lot of her strategic use of primary colors and wall-like panels.
Be sure to also check out her interactive exhibit, the New Humans.
Cheers to a Happy & Artistic Friday!

Jealous
Jealous of the Jealous Curator for creating such a unique and awesome blog which showcases up and coming artists--all of which are just downright rad. What a great & simple concept for a blog, it is now on my #1 spot of my toolbar. Hope you enjoy these finds as much as I did...
Talk about MIXED MEDIA!!! I don't think you can get any better than Shae Acopian Detar's asethetic! Bravo!

PAINTED IN LIGHT

How wonderful is Louisa Parris's studio space pictured above? She is native Brit who now resides in San Fran as a fashion designer. I love all her watercolor mix sheets and how she translates the medium's fluidity into her garments. You can see the direction connection between her art and her fashion collections. I feel like I could create some great designs if I too worked in her stunning studio.

NOSTALGIC & PLAYFUL LAYERS
YAY! I think I am back to blogging on the regular now. As a recent college graduate on the hunt for a design job, I have a bit more free time to gain some fresh inspiration and record it here on the regular at D&F.
These quirky collages are simple and adorable, and how perfect would they be as cards? I have been all about the snail-mail lately and would love to use these images for blank cards. All Designs by Venom.
