Setting Up Shop

How much fun would it be to go into work everyday if this was your office? Well this is an everyday routine for designer Julia Buckingham Edellmann (did she marry the shoe designer?!) who set up shop in the lovely city of Chicago...I wonder if she was lucky enough to have found the studio already composed of that decadent white brick or she did she paint it herself? Either way I definitely would not be too upset if I had to pull some all nighters in this glam-eclectic space :)

Just In the Nic of Time

Just when I thought the weather wasn't going to turn around in Seattle, I heard we're finally going to see the sun this week and it might just be here to stay!! Now that I'm home and happen to have a lot of extra spare time. However, all I wanna go do is go outside and enjoy summer but I haven't been able fully do that yet, (crossies)--it will be a possibility this weekend! With all my extra time inside, I have been quite productive in the addicting world of blogging. I have discovered plenty of fresh, innovative and inspiring designers to add to my "little black book" of designers. Currently, I am obsessing over every little detail in Winsor Smith's impeccable creations. Absolutely divine! Smith has a terrific eye for color, proportion and variety. I hope her cheery spaces will help kick off your weekend to the right start.

I hate it, It hurts my eyes...

in the words of a sarcastic Carrie Bradshaw, as she sees her beautiful, new walk-in-closet for the first time in SATC. This direct quote is exactly what popped into my head when I saw the work of Anna Spiro, the Australian Interior Designer. Her work is fresh, modern, eclectic and 100% inspiring! I love her use of bright coloured textiles and wallpaper against vintage, reupholstered furniture and lots of fun accessories. If I ever happen to be in the "neighborhood", I most definitely will be stopping by her very own, Black + Spiro showroom! In my eyes, Spiro is an absolute design genius! Be sure to stop by her blog, rightfully named, "Absolutely Beautiful Things".

Globally Eclectic

Images: Habituallychic.blogspot.com

After taking another trip over to Portobello Market in Notting Hill, this week I realized how in love I am with the 'global-ecletic' style, if that is such a thing. Lately I have been gravitating towards the look of mix and matched antiques from all different time periods and places but together it can just flow so nicely. I love plain walls and a wood floor which is such a great blank canvas to start placing all your lovely finds. This style would definitely need some perfecting over the years but it'd be so fun to be surrounded in such a lively room filled with pieces that are full of such special memories. Antique resourcing is definitely where it is at, I can not wait for the day I can have a client that will send me off, letting me pick out the perfect pieces for their space :)

I really should start on some homework but this is just way more fun, hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
